Prudy Weaver: My paintings portray the doors through which I have walked: the people and places that have touched my life. To me, art tells the story, recalls the memory, or captures the mood.
Peter Ingrao: was born in New York City on May 17, 1926, the son of an Italian furniture designer. He graduated from the Parsons School of Design, New York, in June, 1953, with the plan that his education in interior design would help showcase his father's craftsmanship.
Following graduation, Peter found employment designing banks in Florida. From Florida, he came to North Carolina where he was Vice President of Interior Designer at The Alderman Company, a position he held for most of his life. Though trained in interior design, Peter's lifelong love was painting. After retiring, he established an art studio in his home and self-educated himself in techniques drawn from Abstraction, Fauvism, Cubism, and Impressionism, among other aesthetic ideologies. Each morning, he would enter his studio with his faithful cat and a bottle of wine, and produce works indicative of his experiments with various influences and yet all his own truly original vision.
His art has been on display in a number of galleries, including Ocracoke, North Carolina, where his art was the number one seller to art lovers visiting from all over the United States as well as abroad. Peter passed away in 2009 at the age of 83. Pursuant to his desire to share his art with others, his son are proud to offer his paintings for sale.
